Sinar Mas Land Muslim Foundation Donates Al-Quran to Dharma Wanita Ministry of PUPR

In order to expand public access to the Al-Qur'an, as well as strengthen ties of kinship between people during the holy month of Ramadan 1443 Hijriah,

Sinar Mas Land through the Sinar Mas Land Muslim Foundation (YMSML) donated 1,000 Al-Qur'an manuscripts to Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Ministry. Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Wednesday, to then be distributed to a number of mosques and Islamic boarding schools within the PUPR Ministry Hall, spread across 34 provinces of Indonesia. The general chairman of the Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation, Saleh Husin, explained that waqf is a routine program of the foundation and all of the pillars of Sinar Mas' business. "This activity is part of the 'Al-Qur'an Waqf for the Country' program which has been consistently implemented by various Sinar Mas business pillars since 2008. This year, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, we did it so that Muslims can read and study the holy Qur'an as a good practice that is recommended during the month of Ramadan," said Saleh, who is also the Managing Director of Sinar Mas, at the PUPR Ministry office. Senior VP Corporate Communication and General Secretary of the Sinar Mas Land Muslim Foundation - Panji Himawan said, "We hope that through this waqf, public access to the Qur'anic manuscripts and their translations will be more open. So that we can read, understand and interpret it correctly so that our faith and morals will increase. Thank you to the Dharma Wanita Unity Ministry of PUPR for being willing to distribute the Qur'an from us."
