IKN Smart City Development, Seeing the Heritage of BSD and Alam Sutera

Head of the National Capital Infrastructure Development Task Force (IKN) Danis H Sumadilaga said President Jokowi had always emphasized IKN to be the future of Indonesia with a new civilization and a new economic center.

IKN is also expected to be the main driver of Indonesia in a better future. "Speaking of IKN is also talking about the city of the future. To build this IKN there are three main visions from the beginning where this IKN really becomes the nation's identity. Second, how this city really holds the principle of sustainability from an economic, social and environmental perspective. Third, how will IKN become the smart city of the future," he said last weekend. Building and developing this IKN takes decades. To build IKN as a smart city and a city of the future, benchmarking is needed, both abroad and domestically, which have started the development of smart cities. Domestically, he continued, BSD City is an area that has tried to build smart cities and green offices with the support of sophisticated technology. "We wanted to see and indeed they have started with the physical building. The office building is futuristic, the entrance to the office is like a mall. The future way of working will also be different. The future city talks about life transformation, the automatic working formation of the office is different from today. Also the city is supported by internet facilities such as BSD City and others," he said. "We are talking about the city. Later on, it will cost money to build this city. We hope that in the future this city will become a city. Besides, there are things that the government must prepare and also build by investors. The government provides the area, they [investors] build supporting clusters such as education, health, shopping centers and others," said Danis.
