Jokowi Orders Trade Minister to Make Cheaper Cooking Oil Prices

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered Trade Minister M Lutfi to stabilize domestic cooking oil prices amid rising crude palm oil (CPO) prices.

"Because the price of CPO in the export market is high, I have ordered the trade minister to ensure the stability of domestic oil prices," said Jokowi. He reminded the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) to prioritize the needs of the people. Jokowi wants the price of cooking oil to be more affordable. Once again, the main priority for people's needs is that the price of cooking oil must be affordable," Jokowi explained. In fact, said Jokowi, the Ministry of Trade should carry out market operations if needed. This is because market operations have been able to stabilize food prices.
