January, CPO Reference Price Drops 4.26%

The reference price for crude palm oil (CPO) products for the determination of export duties (BK) for the January 2022 period is US$ 1,307.76 per ton.
The reference price decreased by US$ 58.23 or 4.26% from the December 2021 period which was US$ 1,365.99 per ton. thereby reducing demand for CPO, declining crude oil prices in November compared to October, and GAPKI's prediction that CPO production will increase by around 8,580 tons in November and December 2021," said Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana in his official statement. Wisnu revealed that the reference price for CPO is listed in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 70 of 2021 concerning Determination of Export Benchmark Prices (HPE) of Agricultural and Forestry Products Subject to Export Duties (BK). "Currently, the CPO reference price has far exceeded the threshold of US$ 750 per tonne. For this reason, the Government imposes a CPO BK of US$ 200 per tonne for the January 2022 period," he continued.
