The former boss of Sinar Mas or SM Gandi Soeherman is now an ambassador in South Korea

Gandi Soeherman has become one of the most talked about figures lately. He is the former Managing Director of Sinar Mas (SM). Gandi Sulistiyanto Soeherman is an Indonesian diplomat and businessman.

He served as Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Korea or Ambassador of Korea based in Seoul, South Korea. Gandi Sulistiyanto was born in Pekalongan, Central Java. After graduating from Pekalongan High School, he continued his studies to a Diploma (D-3) in Shipping which was then named PAT (Technology Expert Education) at Diponegoro University in 1978. The first decade of his career was spent at the automotive company Astra International. He only joined Sinar Mas in 1992 as CEO of PT Asuransi Jiwa Eka Life (now known as Sinar Mas MSIG Life). He was educated by attending the Top Management Program at the Asia Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines in 1999 and in 2011 studying at Harvard Business School majoring in the Advanced Management Program (AMP)
