The Ministry of Industry Speeds up SNI for Cooking Oil Participating in the Rp. 14,000 Program

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) will speed up the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) certification process for palm cooking oil companies (MGS) that use the Oilita brand who participate in the program to sell cooking oil for Rp. 14,000 per liter.
"The Ministry of Industry will relax the MGS SNI obligatory for the MGS industry that uses the Oilita brand. So, if an industrial company is registered in the MGS supply program with the Oilita brand, we will facilitate the acceleration of its SNI certification," said the Director General of Agro Industry at the Ministry of Industry Putu Juli Ardika. This is done to encourage the palm cooking oil industry players to be able to contribute to government programs in maintaining the stability of cooking oil prices in the community. Putu said that 1.2 billion liters of simple packaged cooking oil will be provided for a period of 6 months, and can be extended as needed. In the future, as many as 70 MGS industries will be involved to provide this simple packaged cooking oil and supported by around 200 packers. On the other hand, in order to see the readiness of the cooking oil industry sector in an effort to meet the needs of the community, the Director General of the Agro Industry has made a working visit to a number of producers. These producers include PT Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk (SIMP) in Jakarta, PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Tbk (SMART) in Bekasi, and PT Multimas Nabati Asahan in Serang, Banten.
