State Budget 2022, Debt Control Becomes the Focus

In order to minimize the level of debt and debt interest spending, the Director General of Financing and Risk Management at the Ministry of Finance Luky Alfirman said his party was trying to continue to suppress spending through debt in the 2022 state budget (APBN) revenue.
“The government may consider optimizing non-debt financing as a mitigation measure. high debt financing, mainly through the use of SAL to reduce debt financing targets, as will be done in 2021," explained Luky to Bisnis, last weekend. This year, the government projects the debt-to-GDP ratio to reach 43.1%, with a planned debt withdrawal of Rp.973.6 trillion according to the plan in the 2022 State Budget. and 18%-20% of foreign exchange through the issuance of SBN. Meanwhile, based on Presidential Regulation No. 104/2021 concerning the Details of the 2022 State Budget, the total debt interest payments this year reached Rp. 20.93%.
